The Running Man is a segment that appeared on the fifth second season episode of Liquid Television (an Emmy Award–winning 1990s animation showcase that appeared on MTV and served as the launching point for several high-profile original cartoons, including Beavis and Butt-head, Æon Flux, Cartoon Sushi, and The Head).
First aired on October 20, 1992, directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri, the plot is about Zach Hugh, who is the titular “Running Man,” the undefeated champion of the “Death Circus” racing circuit and has raced for 10 years.
